Book Baron is something of an institution in
Southern California, with three stores (the other two are in Anaheim
and Fullerton) that together offer an extraordinary selection of
rare used books. The Long Beach location is the kind of place you
can spend an afternoon browsing among the aisles, though you might
trip over a fellow patron sitting on the floor. They specialize in
rare and signed books, some of which are displayed in glass display
cases like precious jewels for you to drool over. The unobtrusive
service is perfect for a bookstore. Store employees won't interrupt
your perusal with an annoying "Can I help you?," but they'll be
happy to answer questions should you need their
assistance.
